I first went to Sunday School. As I grew up I knew that Jesus was the Saviour of the world but that was all. When my mother died I was extremely lonely and so when my sister invited me to come to the Pentecostal Church that she attended I accepted. The people were very happy, clapping with the music. I thought they were a “funny” Church but there was something about it that made me keep going.

At Christmas time in 1965 I realised for the first time that Jesus must be my personal Saviour as well as the Saviour of the world and I became a Christian. I was later baptised in water as a Believer and very soon I was baptised in the Holy Spirit. My Pastor prayed for me to be filled with the Holy Spirit and I was! It was such a wonderful experience - I felt I was in heaven. I have had that wonderful experience of being so close to God several times since.

Jesus is always near me and He helps me through each day. Sometimes when I am by myself and I feel a little low, I just praise God at the top of my voice and His peace fills me up.
